Our Topic for the Summer One Term is 'Oh I do like to be beside the Seaside'. Our Topic work will have a Geography and Art focus. Class 8 will be identifying seasonal and daily weather patterns in the United Kingdom and discussing human and physical features of small areas of the United Kingdom. Pupils will be designing and making their very own Punch and Judy Show, they will also be making their very own seaside café for a class role play area.
In English Class 8 will be working around the story 'Mad about Minibeasts' which is written by Giles Andrea. Pupils will be researching various minibeasts and creating factfiles. Class 8 will also be taking part in a minibeast hunt in the school community garden. Pupils in class 8 will be continuing to practise their letter formation and use adjectives, verbs and nouns in their writing.
In Maths Class 8 will be continuing to add and subtract numbers using practical resources such as Numicon, 100 number square and cubes. Pupils will be learning the names and properties of 2D and 3D shapes and working with fractions of quantities and shapes.
In Science pupils will be learning about Living Things and their Habitats. Class 8 will be looking, identifying and creating habitats for animals. Pupils will be learning about how animals are adapted to the habitats they live in.
In Computing pupils will be learning to access Purple Mash. Class 8 will be completing 'Unit 2.6 Creating Pictures'.
